Virtual Reality research Leeuwarden

Would you like to experience what it’s like to step into another world? And would you like to contribute to a scientific study? Then read on quickly.

Zaanderwijk, together with Delft University of Technology, is starting a Virtual Reality research project. The aim of this research is to illustrate how tenants make choices when their toilet, bathroom, and/or kitchen is being replaced. It’s about the color choices for, for example, the wall and floor tiles, kitchen fronts, and countertops.

ATTENTION! This concerns a general market research. It is not a choice for your own home. Everyone supports this research to investigate the wishes of the tenant. Elkien is not directly involved in the research.

How does ‘Virtual Reality research’ work?
The research will take place between October 29 and November 5, 2024 at the Multi-Functional Center Westenkwartier, Verdistraat 1 in Leeuwarden. It takes about 15 minutes. You put on a Virtual Reality (VR) headset. Through these glasses, it seems as if you are really in the kitchen, bathroom, or toilet. You see various examples of these spaces and you always choose which one you like the most. It is your opinion, so there is nothing right or wrong. It is a really nice experience.

TU Delft organizes the research.
She gathers all the information and analyzes it. Based on this, they advise Elkien on which choice packages they can best present to the tenants in the future. In the video below you can get an impression of the research (use translation as the video is in Dutch).
